In a break from the norm, this years recipient of the Jim Delaney Sportsperson of the Year was not one deserving soul, but 3. Terry, Paul and Brendan Kelly (left) a.k.a. "The Kelly Gang" were presented with the trophy on Friday evening. The 3 lads are pleasure to bowl with and you're always guaranteed a laugh when you play them.
One bowler (whose got no chance of winning this trophy, he even got on the committee as an excuse) has said before that if he wants the trophy, he'll just take it.  When it was put to him if he'll be taking it off the lads, he very quickly passed up that chance, saying the cup is in extra safe hands this year.
Congratulations again to Paul, Bren & Terry, Sportsperson of the year 2007.

It's been a pretty special week in the Delany household for Del and Mark (pictured left).  Del shot 300 on 10th October in the Scratch Singles.  The following night in the Scratch Doubles, Mark shot 279, 278, 300 for an 857 series. Del then went out in the Scratch Trio's and shot another 300. 3 300's and an 857 in the 1 family in the 1 week!!
We're pretty sure Mark's set is a national record, what's to be confirmed is where it ranks in European terms. Stay posted for more as we find out.

Congratulations go out to Gillian Duignam and Paul Chandler (Left) on winning the Step-Ladder Finals of the Masters in the 2007 ALTBC Club Championships in ALSAA on Wednesday night. Gillian overcame Joan Gardner in the Ladies final and Paul beat Del Delany in the men's.  Well done to both.

We've had hits (4) this week on the site from St. Louis, home of the Hall of Fame. Are they checking up on Mark Delany???

In the last 2 weeks, www.altbc.com has had hits from; Argentina, Australia, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Norway and the USA.  Whether they're legitimate hits or not, I'm claiming them! We're going global............
